Course Objective |
The critical and theoretical assessment of translation in the context of globalization, multiculturalism, cultural hybridity will be discussed within the course limits. Today s metropolis such as New York, London, Sydney, Berlin, Hamburg constitute great amounts of migrants including their poets and authors such as Aras Ören, Feridun Zaimoğlu, Akif Pirinççi, Kemal Kurt, Aysel Özakın, Yüksel Pazarkaya. |

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods |
The course materials suggested for students come from two different sources. The first group of sources include academic books. Students are expected to skim and scan them before they come to class. The translations are grouped, evaluated and criticised in the light of the recently gained knowledge. Students prepare individual responses and presentations and come to class ready to present them at this stage. |
