Course Objective

The main purpose of the course is to provide the student with detailed analysis on Türkiye s main trading partners economic structure. As the EU and other trading blocks are studied in other courses, this course will be rather country-based not excluding the major economies in the EU as Türkiye s trade partners.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge on economic structures and performances of the major trading partners of Türkiye, trying to predict the near-future and future trends;
2   Be able to distinguish between different patterns of trade in Türkiye s trade relations with different countries, to comment on their implications for the international business environment around Türkiye
3   Be able to follow and interpret the evolution of Turkish foreign trade with these countries focusing on the last decades comparing this period with the previous ones.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will show the main economic features of Türkiye s major trading partners with particular reference to changing trade patterns and their implications for the near-future.

2. The learner will explain different patterns of trade with different countries or groups of countries, making inferences on their implications for the international business environment around Türkiye.

3. The learner will demonstrate the relationship between the changes in Türkiye s major trade partners economic structure and evolution of Turkish foreign trade with these countries.
