Course Objective

This course analyzes public expenditure and taxation in detail, in addition to political economy of government, income distribution, social insurance and social security, cost-benefit analysis of government projects, kinds of taxation, fiscal policy, government debt.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate understanding of the role of government in economic life by the analysis of government duties in practice.
2   Be aware of the different views on fiscal theory and policy by reading and presenting articles on selected topics
3   Recognize and analyze different fiscal policy tools and their effects by reading articles and by applying mathematical and numerical methods to solve these problems
4   Make group presentations on a given subject by constructing research on the subject
