Course Objective

This course aims to provide students with an understanding of factors, which shape the individual and group
behavior in organizational settings. The course also aims to explain how to deal with behavioral problems, to
maintain a high quality of work life, to improve individual, group and organizational performance and the
manager s role in applying the findings of behavioral sciences and using conceptual tools for analyzing and
understanding behavior.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Demonstrate an understanding of basic concepts and theories related to behavior in a work environment.
2   Identify possible individual, group, and organizational level factors effecting behavior in a given work situation.
3   Apply appropriate techniques to shape, improve, employee behavior and satisfaction.
4   Work effectively as part of a team participating and interacting in the group in a productive manner for him/herself and for the group as a whole.
5   Develop oral/written communication skills; articulate and defend his/her position.
6   Develop and enhance the essential interpersonal skills to be an effective team member.
