Course Objective

This course aims to focus on translating Turkish literary texts into English. The course also aims to enable students with tools to solve problems arising from different traditions and cultures of the two literatures. Determining the most accurate transfer structure and lexical choices during the translation process is another aim of this course.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Acquire required conceptual ant theoritical knowledge for literary translation
2   Adapt the knowledge acquired in other courses into literary translation
3   Translate individually and in a group
4   Know and apply strategies and methods used in literary translation and develop new methods when required
