Course Objective

The aim of this course is to gain the ability to define, model, solve and interpret the results, to enable the use of numerical thinking skills with scientific methods in reaching the policies and objectives of the business effectively.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Uses numerical methods effectively in problem solving phase.
2   Applies learned numerical methods to real life problems.
3   Knows and analyzes the basic principles of linear programming models, transportation, assignment models, network (network) analysis.
4   Performs optimization modeling of decision making problems in service and production systems.
5   Evaluates alternative solutions of decision problems by taking into consideration possible risks and opportunities, with an economic analysis approach.
6   Analyzes the problems in the frame of alternative solutions during the decision making process with the help of computer software.

Exams: There will be held on two in class exams; midterm exam and final exam during the semester.
