Course Objective

The aim of this course is to provide students to learn the basic concepts of macro economy, the factors that make up national income equality, the effects of aggregate demand and factors that affect total supply, the main problems of the economy, money supply and money demand, the foreign exchange market and how and how basic macroeconomic policy tools are used.

3   Learns factors affecting aggregate demand.
4   Learns the factors affecting total supply.
5   Explain the effect of market balance distortions.
6   Learns money supply, money demand, exchange rate concepts.
7   Learns the monetary and fiscal policy tools.
8   Learns the basic problems of the economy.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 The basic concepts of macroeconomics.
2 Measurement of national income with real, gross and potentially perspective.
3 Factors that consist of the national income equality.
4 Factors affecting aggregate demand.
5 Factors affecting total supply.
6 Market equilibrium formation and analysis of market equilibrium change.
7 Basic macroeconomic problems: Inflation, unemployment, relationship between inflation and employment.
8 Mid-Term Exam
9 Basic macroeconomic problems: Inflation, unemployment, relationship between inflation and employment.
10 Economic growth, internal and external debt problems.
11 The demand for money and money supply.
12 Exchange market and the determination of the exchange rate.
13 The policies of foreign trade and exchange rate and their effects on the market.
14 Monetary and fiscal policies and their effects on the market.
15 Monetary and fiscal policies and their effects on the market.
16 Final Exam.
