Course Objective

Punishment is one of the important parameters in understanding the validity of social norms. The sociology of punishment course explains the basic aspects of punishment in a comparative and historical perspective. Socially, penal institutions allow the testing of social theory. As a technical field that includes criminal sociology, crime prevention and control institutions, it provides basic information to those who want to work in this field.
