Course Objective

This course aims to study the historical, cultural and political conditions in the 20th century and to define the universe of meaning in this period in the context of main artistic, literary and philosophical movements.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course, the student will be able; to recognize the historical and cultural conditions in the 20th century.
2   to compare the thought-movements in the 20th century.
3   to distinguish the different periods in this age.
4   to compare the texts in the context of the their own historical conditions.
5   to analyze the conditions initiated 21th century.
