Course Objective

The course aims to explore contemporary Turkish Art from the first decades of the Republic to today with an investigation into political, social and economic factors that have shaped it.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To interpret the examples of contemporary Turkish Art
2   To analyse a work of art in the light of art history
3   To make associations between a work of art and its examples from history
4   To recognize the periods, movements, artists, subject, style, materials and technical features of a contemporary Turkish art history
5   To know and interpret the contemporary issues of contemporary Turkish art
