Course Objective

Aims of this course are to teach principles of treatment in nuclear medicine and mechanisms involved in the effectiveness of treatment.

1 Revision of the basic elements of radionuclide therapy, alpha and beta particles, Auger electrons, dose calculations, I 131 therapy for thyroid cancer and hyperthyroidism, treatment of liver metastases with Y 90 microspheres, radiosinovektomi
2 Radioimmunotherapy, Y-90 Zevalin, I 131 MIBG, 111 I octreotide, 177 Lu DOTA peptide treatment, bone pain palliation and new methods of treatment
