Course Objective

The objective of this course is to integrate the knowledge and methods have been acquired in the functional areas of production, marketing, accounting, finance, HRM, information systems. It focuses on all aspects of business (accounting, finance, marketing, production, human resources, information systems) and industry and competitive environment in which it operates, its long-term direction and strategy, resources and competitive capabilities, and prospects for success..
It puts emphasis on to provide opportunities to develop and practice analytical skills in problem identification, strategy formulation, implementation, evaluation and strategic decision making focusing on national and international business environment. Finally, it explores the social, moral, and ethical consequences of strategic management decisions.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   At the end of this course the learner is expected to: Understand the terms, concepts, models related to business functions and it s relations in order to analyze the key decisions driving long-term firm performance,
2   Develop capacity to think strategically about business activities,
3   Propose, defend, formulate and implement strategic and general management methods, tools and techniques and use for effective strategic analysis,
4   Build skills in conducting strategic analyses in a variety of industries and competitive situations, reasoning carefully about strategic options, and applying strategic analysis to make sound and ethical strategic decisions,
5   Gain skills to the broad view point to problems required of top management,
6   Develop appropriate social competence skills and dispositions together to reach a common decisions in working as part of a problem-solving team in simulations,
7   Improve oral and written business communication skills by presenting ideas in correct logical and appropriate manner in different context,
8   Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of ethical principles, personal and company values, socially responsible behavior.

Assessment Criteria

1. Four written papers (external and internal analysis paper and business plan) and simulation results.
2. Discussion in class room meetings.
3. Case analysis
4. Presentations will be assessed on preparation, understanding, knowledge, capacity to structure, oral communication skills, ability to respond to questions and manage discussion.

Course Policies and Rules

1. Attending at least 70 percent of lectures is mandatory.
2. Plagiarism of any type will result in disciplinary action.
3. Students are expected to participate actively in class discussions.
4. Students are expected to attend to classes on time.
5. After class room introduction of the simulated company and after formation of teams, learners need outside activities.
