Course Objective

To bring the level of students the translate texts in Arabic and students are also taking advantage of the characteristics of the structure and meaning of the prefositions.





Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Makes translation from Arabic To Turkish.
2   Learns the Arabic translation of formulaic sequences and apply.
3   Learns characteristics of Arabic and Turkish grammar.
4   Learns translation mistakes.
5   Learns the literal translation alone is insufficient the main language defining feature refinement bears learns about it.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Translation Theory and Conceptual Framework: Importance and Types of translation.
2 Translation Techniques: a) the source and target languages, grammatical and cultural characteristics to be taken into account.
3 Translation Techniques: b) determination of the source text of the terminology that is known to science.
4 Translation Techniques: c) determination of the source dictionary meanings of words in the text.
5 Translation Techniques: d) detection and translation of terms.
6 Translation Techniques: e) translation of conjunctions and prepositions.
7 Translation Techniques: f) take into consideration the phenomenon of Polysemy and synonymy.
8 Translation Techniques: g) to consider the literary arts.
9 Translation Techniques: h) Idiomatic expressions translation.
10 Translation Techniques: k) to consider the connotations of translation in the target language.
11 Translation Errors: l) Errors due to literal translations.
12 Translation Errors: m) Errors due to not knowing the source or target language.
13 Translation Errors: n) The terms of a language, the use of redundant protection motive.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Midterm and Final Exam:
In Midterm and Final Exams student are asked to translate Arabic texts in the sample. In addition, examples of sentence structure, and other compositions which understands that questions are asked.

Homework:
The student will develop a variaty Arabic texts freely and without fear to read and understand the nature and capasity of the sample does not exceed the size of a work are asked to translate in a certain period of time.
