Course Objective

This course will try to explain the problem of the production of diversity by artists, with the help of discussions about identity and position.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Comprehend that the elements that determine an artist's attitude are problems of consciousness and awareness.
2   Accept that a work of art is at the same time a statement of the identity of the artist.
3   See that a work of art becomes clearer with the permeability of psycho-social factors.
4   Know that artists reinforce the emphasis on identity with the support of historical, cultural and political data, that they are after fictions which refer to discussions about belonging.
5   See that a better context for production of meaning will be provided through the appropriate use of information about the work of art, the artist and the viewer.
