Course Objective

This course aims to give seminars about these problematics ,to write research papers, to make literature reviews, discussions, readings and to offer suggestions related to chosen subjects in advanced level , to examine the political, social and cultural changes that took place in America and Europe during the 1960s and 1970s in the context of art and design. In addition to these aims, this course aims to evaluate and analyze about the sub-cultural and counter- cultural visual productions in advanced level.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to have an analytical, conceptual and critical point of view by analyzing the effects of socio cultural, technological and ideological changes on art and design and designers-artists in the 1960s and 1970s in advanced level.
2   To be able to examine popular culture and its style in advanced level.
3   : Student will be able to develop his/her presentation skills, to write research papers and to think critically about related subjects and theories of art and design in advanced level.
4   To be able both to grasp the culture of art and design and to discuss their visual productions, the interaction between sub-culture and counter-cultures in the context of art and design in advanced level.
5   To be able to examine and transfer the field of study the works of art and design created by the awareness of social responsibility during the 1960s and 1970s
