Course Objective

The Sculpture Art has questioned its existence in the face of the modernist experience, and the answers of these questions have been the beginning of a continuous and rapid morphological change. The lesson of Sculpture As Object aims to analyze and comment the role undertaken by the sculpture art beginning from the process of starting to live Modernism in 1950 up to the present day in the contemporary art environment and the transformation it has undergone based upon the certain artists and works.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to define the status of the sculpture art after modernism.
2   To be able to evaluate the Turkish art within the framework of the world art after modernism.
3   To be able to analyze the discussions developing in the environment of the sculpture environment after the 1950 ies up to the present day.
4   To be able to react the current resources with respect to the issue and to be able to evaluate them
5   To be able to correlate his/her studies and accumulations of art with the issue
