Course Objective

To teach the American human rights system, human rights conventions and the protection mechanisms which are accepted within the context of Organisation of American States.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have a grasp of the role and importance of the Organisation of American States in protection of human rights.
2   To express the importance and the reform of the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man
3   To have a good command of the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man and additional protocols.
4   To express the human rights' protection mechanisms and especially the functions and missions of the American Court of Human Rights within the American human rights system.
5   To express the rights and freedoms and auditing institutions in American system which are protected by other human rights documents.
