Course Objective

Becomes aware of the sources of danger that may be encountered during the studies in the field of nuclear medicine and to be informed about methods of protection against all these dangers, to make risk assessments regarding the working environment and to gain a safe working culture, as well as to prepare general laboratory materials and solutions to be used for diagnosis and treatment in this field and to convey basic information about the application of measurement methods.

1   Having knowledge about the concepts and principles of laboratory safety
2   Having knowledge about hazards and risk concepts
3   Be able to implement safe laboratory work
4   To define the rules of safe laboratory practices and good manufacturing practices
5   To understand the principles of basic laboratory equipment and method
6   To have knowledge of basic chemistry and biochemistry basic biochemistry

1 Principles of laboratory safety; basic concepts
2 Laboratory hazards and personal protective equipment
3 Hazard signs, chemical safety (classification, disposal of chemicals and use of MSDS)
4 Radiation safety
5 Basic equipment used in the laboratory
6 Solutions and solution preparation
7 molarity, normality, etc ... concepts, molar solutions
8 Universa units and conversion system
9 Dilution processes, acid-base concept, pH and buffer solutions
10 Immunassay, RIA
11 RIA and gamma counter
12 Quality assurance in Laboratory
