Course Objective

To examine the basic theories of visual communication and the important components of the visual communication process and to create the theoretical infrastructure of graphic design.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having knowledge about the basic concepts of graphic design.
2   Having knowledge about frame of visual communication and its contents.
3   Analyze design work both visually and theoritically.
4   Recognize the distinctive elements of an image
5   Having visual analyzes with semiology
6   Having visual analyzes with Gestalt Methods.
7   Knowing the relationship between design and mass communication.
8   Establishing the relationship between the image and the language.

Since the course will be held online this semester, active participation is of great importance. Therefore, the evaluation criteria are: Participating in class and completing assigned research assignments flawlessly and honestly.
