Course Objective

The course aims to provide detailed analyses on the business practices and traditions across the Middle East countries. The course will examine the role of oil, water, demography and economic policies in the Middle East. The course is designed to provide insight on economics of Gulf countries, structural imbalances, trade relations, political systems, culture and religion.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Show a clear and detailed understanding of the differing business traditions in Middle East
2   On a comparative basis, demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of institutional mechanisms of economic and business environment across the Gulf countries
3   Analyse the current business and economic developments in and around the Middle East, with particular respect to their impact on global economy
