Course Objective

To train professional nurses who has extensive knowledge for providing a healthy and safe workplace, develops programs in health care management, contributes to the field by doing scientific research, and takes the lead in solving problems

1   Explain the purpose of occupational health and occupational health services
2   Explain in the world and the current situation in Turkey occupational health and safety
3   Knows occupational health related parties
4   Explain national and international legal regulations related to occupational health
5   Explain the relationship between work and health
6   Explains the historical development of occupational health and occupational health nursing
7   Explain and discuss the roles and functions of occupational health nurses
8   Knows the principles of health education and counseling for employee health
9   Can plan health protection and development programs for work environments
10   Develop solutions for problems arising from working environments (occupational diseases, occupational accidents) by using nursing process
11   Define general occupational health and safety problems in work environments
12   Knows the developments in the provision of occupational health services

8 Health protection and development in the workplace, health education and consultancy in occupational health services

10 Research in workplace nursing, evidence-based workplace health promotion programs
11 Evaluation of occupational health nursing services: Omaha model
12 Occupational diseases and prevention
13 Occupational accidents, protection, use of personal protective equipment
