Course Objective

The aim of this course is to examine the concept of the self, the history of self, the self in social contexts.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Being able to define basic concepts related to the self on the basis of social psychology.
2   Being able to explain main theories and models related to the self in social psychology.
3   Being able to recognize the relations between self, family and culture.
4   Being able to give examples recent research on the self.
5   Being able to describe the importance of research on the self for different subfields of psychology.
6   Being able to pursue and contribute to current research in the subject of the self.
