Course Objective

Scope of the lecture is to examine community, individual, sub-community groups, culture and identity (sub-identities) with the help of examples on historical and contemporary urban settlements, globalization, post-modernism, meanning, tranformation, immigration, population, sheltering, gentrification in Türkiye and other world cities.

1   Acquire basic information about the concept of culture and cultural theories,
2   They can discuss the relationship between culture-identity-society,
3   Gains a critical perspective on the field.
4   They can understand cultural practices by gaining a sociological perspective.
