Course Objective

To transmit the academic advisor's knowledge and experience in American Studies to the thesis-level student, and to cultivate in him/her academic ethics, work discipline, and the ability to follow, evaluate and discuss thesis-related current scholarship and new developments.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To develop the skill of expertly interpreting, developing and using thesis-related and other American Studies knowledge.
2   To develop the skill of requiring the necessary knowledge and acquiring the sought knowledge.
3   To synthesize, analyze and interpret thesis-related knowledge.
4   To uphold scholarly and ethical values in the researching, evaluation and publishing of thesis-related material.
5   To develop the skill of methodological design, development, application and the evaluation of results in solving a thesis-related problem.
6   To develop the skill of solving thesis-related practical problems through the use of research methods, the development of new approaches and by taking responsibility.
7   To develop the skill of transmitting thesis-related current developments and one s own work in written, oral and visual form.
