Course Objective

By this course it is aimed to gain the students information and skills about species specific housing conditions, nutritional needs, ratio preparation according to experimental protocol and preparation of special diets.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1	To be able to understand basic information about nutrition
2	To be able to define nutrients and their metabolism
3	To be able to demonstrate anatomy of digestive canal and physiology of digestion according to the species
4	To be able to explain nutritional needs of laboratory animals according to their species
5	To be able to calculate ratio preparation
6	To be able to compare the diets of rat, mouse, rabbit and other animals
7	To be able to define microenvironment and macroenvironment in housing
8	To be able to compare interspecies housing differences
