Course Objective: By this course it is aimed to teach the students theoretically and practically information about etiology, pathogenesis of diseases; disinfection, hygiene, isolation, quarantine precautions, preventive medicine, autopsy techniques, pathological changes due to diseases,

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   LO 1. To be able to understand the etiology and pathogenesis of common diseases in laboratory animals
2   LO 2. To be able to understand hygienic precautions, disinfection, isolation, precautions of quarantine, preventive medicine.
3   LO 3. To be able to apply autopsy techniques in laboratory animals
4   LO 4. To be able to observe pathological changes in tissues, organs and systems due to diseases in laboratory animals
5   LO 5. To be able to understand protecting the colonies for laboratory animal breeding, disease eradication in the colony, and precautions of quarantine
6   LO 6. To be able to understand breeding, housing, usage, transport, basic principle in acceptance of new animals
7   LO 7. To be able to understand the principles of taking samples from diseased tissue according to the disease and its transfer to the laboratory
