Course Objective

Establish the overview of organizational concepts and theories, describe the importance of planning, integrate organization into the business entity, identify the importance of motivation and leadership in logistic companies, comprehend the mechanisms of control and develop critical analysis skills.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Understanding of management practices as planning, organizing, leading and controlling in a variety of organizational settings
2   Ability to analyze and understand various leadership theories and the practice of leadership in logistic companies.Topics include leadership, motivation, groups, and influence.
3   Understanding of diversity in workplace settings, and its impact on leadership styles, communication processes, and relational behaviors. Enhance their effectiveness working with other individuals.
4   Understanding of the social and psychological factors that influence the management of groups and individuals in work settings, such as communication, leadership, decision-making, power, politics, and job design.
5   Understanding of how the global and national business environments affect critical business decisions of logistic companies such as global functional strategies, global opportunity analysis, market(s) selection, market entry and timing, choice of production site for global sourcing, and organizational implications.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

MSc level knowledge, skills and competencies in research, examination, critics, oral and written presentation of Logistic Management cases in terms of innovation, creativity and inventions will be assessed.

Assessment Criteria

There will be one midterm exam and one cumulative final exam covering all the assignments and lectures.

Students have to attend all class assignments and attend %70 of the lectures.
