Course Objective

The aim of this lecture is to be able to identificate the physical, mental, spiritual, social needs and also economic problems of a patient and Her/his family in the pallative stage. Additional to this also to plan the physiotherapy program and apply required techniques in the patient population and be able to make clinical reasoning.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Can make the definition of palliative care and basic concepts
2   Knows the indication and contraindications of palliative care
3   Knows to evaluate the physical symptoms
4   Knows the evidence based physiotherapy assessments and treatments in palliative care
5   Knows the interdisciplinary work in the rehabilitation team
6   Knows the differences in relation to physiotherapy of pediatric and adult patients
7   Knows to teach the coping skills for the patient sand their families in the stage of mourning
