Course Objective

To learn modern class management methods and approaches, also to develop the skills of educational leadership and class management and to evaluate class management related implementations domestic and international in this context.

Course Contents

1 The basis of classroom management, the models and units of classroom management.
2 The basis of classroom management, the models and units of classroom management.
3 The factors effected classroom management (family, social norm and values, expectations, the characteristics of student and teacher, and media)
4 The factors effected classroom management (school administration, the qualification of teachers, the physical characteristics of class, teachers' organizational commitment)
5 The physical characteristics of class (size, number of students, temprature, lighting, colour, noise, cleanness, order of sitting)
6 Time management (importance and models of time management)
7 Creating relation patterns of class (group dynamics, first school days, classroom climate, creating democratic classroom climate)
8 Midterm
9 Teacher-student communication (communication units, effective listening, empathy, commınication barriers)
10 Creating dicipline and rules in class (dicipline, dicipline problems, disipline models, the process of defining class rules)
11 The management of undesired behaviours in class (the approaches of preventing undesired behaviours)
12 Preparing a school-wide student management plan
13 Management of the relationships with the parents
