Course Objective

Introduction to the soil mechanics: Description of the soil properties, classification of the soil, calculation of total and effective stress along the depth of the soil profile, permeability and seepage properties of the soil.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course involves theoretical lecture and problem solutions related to the subject. The lecture continues in the form of mutual discussion between the lecturer and the students after introduction and basic description of the subject. Problems are given as homework for each related subject.
