Course Objective

Ground survey report that is required during the preparation of soil mechanics soil mechanics laboratory tests done by the student. To learn methods of calculation. Experiment to learn the preparation of the final report.

Course Contents

1 Introduction to Soil Mechanics Laboratory, general information about the course, the creation of groups for laboratory test work, determination of water content of soils
2 Test unit weight on the soil, implementation of the method of waxing cohesionless material, preparing the test report
3 Finding unit weight with sand cone method, preparation of test report
4 Specific gravity testing, calibration of the Volumetric Flask determination, determination of specific gravity of cohesive soils, preparation of test report
5 Determination of specific gravity of cohesionless soils, preparing the test report
6 Determination of liquid limit of soils with Casagrande method, preparation of test report
7 Determination of liquid limit of soils with cone penetration method, plastic limit test, preparation of test report
8 Shrinkage limit test, preparation of test report
9 Midterm Exam + laboratory work
10 Sieve analysis, mechanical sieve analysis, testing, drawing grain size distribution curve and preparation of test report
11 Hydrometer analysis, drawing grain size distribution curve and preparation of test report
12 Evaluation of sieve analysis and classification of soil
13 Examination of the reports and missing or problematic repetition of experiments
14 Examination of the reports and missing or problematic repetition of experiments

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The course of theoretical lectures in the classroom, in the form of application will be processed in the laboratory. A faculty member will explain threads with slides, create in the form of question and answer discussion with students and practice in the laboratory experiments about the subject matter. will provide information after the end of experiments about preparation of reports and evaluation of results
