Course Objective

To give the necessary technological knowledge about the shaping techniques used in ceramic production, mould types used in different shaping methods and designing these moulds.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To define the importance of shrinkage for ceramic moulding.
2   To describe the moulds used in slip casting.
3   To describe the moulds used in jolleying and jiggering.
4   To describe the moulds used in hydraulic presses.
5   To apply the information about moulding.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

The theoretical lectures of the course will be taught in the classroom and the applications of the theoretical issues will be taught in the laboratory. The instructor will discuss the theoretical and applications of the course for better understanding.
