Course Objective

To introduce the main trends and concepts in the field of production management and organization; to inform students about production types, factory organization, material trasportation, production planning, capacity planning, maintenance management, quality management and production technologies.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To have knowledge about the main trends and concepts in the field of production management and organization and to be able to analyze efficiency and effectiveness.
2   Having knowledge about production types
3   Having knowledge about how to organize a factory
4   Ability to select equipment and plan transportation in material transporting
5   Recognizing capacity types and being able to plan capacity at a basic level
6   Having knowledge about the types of production planning and how to do it
7   Having knowledge about maintenance types and maintenance management
8   Recognizing quality concepts and having knowledge about quality management
9   Having knowledge about production technologies
