To teach the basic concepts of map. Defininiton of the use of topographic maps to make the students be able to perform it during field work.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 What is the map and what types of maps and map-related concepts and features are there. Calculation of the point height and the height difference between different points by using different methods for the variation of scales of the maps.
2 Map scale, different scales of the maps, and the use of scale in practice. Calculation of the point height and the height difference between different points by using different methods for the variation of scales of the maps.

4 Topographical maps, features, the meaning and use of contour lines. Drawing of topographic cross-sectional profile of different directions by using graph papers.
5 Topographic maps in finding the structure of surface, location determination
