Course Objective

Identify biological, chemical and physical hazards and potential risks. Then they can take the necessary protective measures to prevent possible accidents that may arise. The main purpose of this lesson is or to gain the knowledge and skills to eliminate these risks.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Having knowledge about principles of laboratory safety
2   Understand the coralation between risk groups and biosafety level
3   Be able to apply safe laboratory practices
4   Having a knowledge about factors effects risk and precautions
5   Able to asses laboratory risks
6   Able to determine the relationship between the concepts of accident and safe working conditions
7   Classify laboratory-derived waste and apply separation at source.
8   Knows the concept of biosecurity and can relate laboratory design for safety.
9   Count the components of laboratory safety
