Course Objective

As a fundamental lecture for the medical laboratories, the aim of this lecture is bringing the students to a better understanding of both clinical and general biochemistry topics. This lecture would present the laboratory technicians not only the knowledge they might use directly in their work lives, but also the very foundations of new techniques based on this knowledge.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Defines the principles of basic chemistry that leads to biochemistry
2   Associates the principles of basic chemistry with life sciences
3   Gets to know the elements and molecules that act in human chemistry
4   Comprehends the general classifications of chemical reactions
5   Reconciles the chemical events with energy related quantitative values
6   Knows the factors that decrease/increase the rate of chemical reactions
7   Gets to know the basic molecules that make up organisms chemistry
8   Apprehends the reactions of the functional groups of these basic molecules
9   Learning becomes clear that scientific and technological developments.

6 Chemical Formulas, Chemical Reactions and Reaction Equations

8 Gases and Basic Gas laws
