Course Objective

Purpose of lesson, learn to decorative jewelry techniques and create designs by students, using the technical information for producing to product.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to defined the basic decorating techniques.
2   To be able to create jewelry ornamentation technique used design
3   To be able to choose of materials for appropriate jewelry design.
4   To be able to Jewellery production using technological devices.
5   To be able to using the appropriate production techniques to produce jewelery.

Course Contents

Week Subject Description
1 Repousse: pitch paste preparation, model transfering on primer metals, chasing and repousse metal, cleaning and polishing to model.
2 Inlay: used to metals prepare and drawing a design on the metal surface.
3 Inlay: Design carving and inlay wire into the surface, cleaning and polishing the metal.
4 Filigree: prepare to filler and frame wire, prepare the outer form to using a frame wire.
5 Filigree: fill the inside of the frame, soldering and cleaning.
6 Knitting: Mesh knit, make a triple braid.
7 Student project
8 Midterms
9 Enamel: Hot enamel, cold enamel, laser enamel.
10 Engraving the pen: Engraving for hand and engraving machine.
11 Niello: Niello material preparation, carving pattern fill in with niello.
12 Piercing: Preparation of the metal, desing transfering on metal, piercing metal.
13 Piercing: Filing the product file and polish metal.
14 Granulation: Granulation production, to polish the work.
15 Prepare for the final exam and its completion of the students' project applications.
