Course Objective

This course aims to teach properties and reactions of organic compound classes to students and to associate this knowledge with organic production sectors

1   To be able to define the basic concepts of organic chemistry.
2   To be able to name organic compounds.
3   To be able to draw the structural formulas of organic compounds.
4   To be able to specify utilization areas of organic compound classes.
5   To be able to distinguish organic compounds each other based on their physical and chemical properties.

4 Alkanes and nomenclature of alkanes, IUPAC and special nomenclature conventions, examination of the concepts of isomerism and structural isomerism of alkanes.

7 Nomenclature of alkenes, geometric isomerism, physical properties of alkenes
