Course Objective

The aim of this course to teach the basic concepts of polymer chemistry, polymer synthesis reactions and types of polymers and application areas of polymers in daily life to the students.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to sort polymer materials and raw materials used in daily life.
2   To be able to define the basic concepts and classification of polymers.
3   To be able to specify the methods of polymerization synthesis under laboratory conditions or for industrial purposes.
4   To be able to sort the main physical and chemical properties of polymers.
5   To be able to specify the plastic molding methods and other forming methods.

5 Reactions and applications of radical (chain-growth) polymerization.
6 Reactions and applications of ionic polymerization.

11 The physicochemical properties of polymers.
