Course Objective

To obtain the necessary data for structural design by determining the inner force equilibrium of isostatic structural systems and determination of the magnitude of fluid pressure on submerged surfaces.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to calculate the internal forces in statically determinate beams.
2   To be able to express the internal forces of plane isostatic frameworks.
3   To be able to sort bar forces in statically determinate plane lattices.
4   To be able to make the internal force calculations and graphical drawings of the three hinged systems.
5   To be able to calculate hydrostatic pressure and pressusure on submerged surfaces , floating bodies , liquid flow
