Course Objective

To perform basic calculations required for the design of structural elements.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to use mechanical magnitudes in the SI unit of measure.
2   To be able to perform arithmetic operations of scalar and vector quantities.
3   To be able to compute the resultant and component of the force magnitude.
4   To be able to explain the magnitude of the torque of the force at a point.
5   To be able to explain the bearing computations of isostatic beams.
