Course Objective

In this course, it is aimed to give students the basic knowledge of principles of communication, properties of audio and phone set, structures of telephone exchanges and importance of switching.

1   Be able to list the basics of transmission.
2   Be able to analyze the basic concepts of data communication techniques, principles, objectives and their relationship with the environment.
3   Be able to explain the working principle of the phone.
4   Be able to analyze telephone networks
5   Be able to list switching techniques.

6 Local telephone networks, cables for subscriber telephone, end office, Fibers and their operation
7 Space division multiplexing and code division multiplexing
8 MID-TERM EXAM
9 Telephone exchange, its necessity and function
10 Telephone exchanges, their characteristics and installation of analog, digital and IP exchanges
11 CDR, CTI,IVR, ACD and conference concepts

13 The Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)
