Course Objective

To comprehend the steps of preparation phase of weaving designment and applications . Prodesigns,story panel and design sheets for design research/survey Application stages as yarn dying , preparation of weaving and weaving to be applied by students and to be realized by themselves ın all stages of weaving procedure. To have a foundation for design lectury on 3rd an 4th classes.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   1. To understand the weaving design instruments
2   2. To make basic weaving designs by using the instruments of weaving design and basic design principles
3   3. To make one layer weaving design and to practice with hand weaving
4   To make suggestions about presentations of designments and practices in order to be the preliminary for designment lectures on 3rd and 4th classes
5   5. To present and defence the story sheet and designs of his/her Project

1 What is weaving designment What is the factors that influence and compose the weaving design To determine all necessary equipments of designment and practice .
2 Small weaving excercises on hand looms . Basic tests for one colored weaving
3 Basic weaving tests with one color
4 Designs created with color series
5 Designs created with color series
6 Designs created with color series
7 Project study and sketch work about determined subject
8 Continuing the sketches and the presentation of the Project investigations
9 Continuing the sketches
10 Presentation of the sketches , state the proper sketches for review and designing
11 Continuing the designment works
12 Continuing the designment works
13 Continuing the designment works
14 Presentation of the designs and defense of the students

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lessons
Instructor let the student to understand all the procedure in a small project which will be a stand for weaving design . the student will cover weaving activity by using hand weaving technics and basic weaving structures on small hand looms
Review of prodesign/sketches and arguement
Let the student who understand the logic of weaving newly to practice weaving designs. To investigate true methods of dying and designing technics in order to state fabric structure diversity with the pattern differences on sketches properly .These trials will have an importance that they will be the main methods and technics to utilise on 3rd and 4th classes .

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

-Students will have excercises that present texture , color and structure by using the coefficients of weaving design
-Student who understand the logic and practicing methods of weaving will have his/her own workshop
-It is expected that the student can make sketches and investigations (2) ,Powerpoint presentations of the investigations (3) prepare the sheets of prodesigns (4) to prepare design sheets in aggregation with the subject (5) to prepare story panel including designs and applications (6) which all are the contents of the determined weaving design Project and to present and defence the own project .

1. It s necessary to attend 80% of the lecture

2. Every piracy/plagiarism attempt/trial will be end with diciplinary punishment

3. Not to attend the lecture will not be an apology for not to take responsibilities asked for lecture will not be accepted
