Course Objective

To teach the basics of digital printig which is the current technology of new generation textile printing,its applications in textile,differences between traditional textile printing,usage opportunities of textile designers and its advantages.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Define basic principles and systems of digital printing
2   define differences between digital printing from traditional printing
3   define advantages of digital printing in application and design
4   define compounds of digital systems and differences of digital printig ink from traditional printing dye stuffs and pastes.
5   obtain visual effects and printing patterns which can not be achieved by conventional printing techniques through digital design and printing possibilities.

1 An overview of Textile Printing Sector
2 Basics of digital textile printing,differences from traditional textile and paper printing, general evaluation of textile printing sector
3 History of digital printing and its development
4 Introduction of digital printings, examining the machinery.
5 Informing about digital printing machinery evaluating of obtaining visual effects which can not be achieved conventional printing methods through digital printing.
6 Color systems, basics and differences of CMYK, RGB ve CIELab color systems
7 Color systems, basics and differences of CMYK, RGB ve CIELab color systems , computer based presentation and practices
8 Digital printing systems, applications of digital printing in art and design.
9 Digital ink jet printing ink and its differences from conventional printing dyes, fabrics, pre and post processes.
10 Digital printing systems, applications of digital printing in art and design.
11 Digital printing machinery, ink and software companies, latest development in this topic.
12 Examining the artists, academicians, designers and universities carrying out in the field of digital printing.
13 Examining the artists, academicians, designers and universities carrying out in the field of digital printing.
