Course Objective

The aims of this course are the capabilities of students; to create designs about their speciality and creative, innovator and unique designs on universal thought system, perform a research and development study about accessories design industry on national and international level, to display performance on their speciality on artistic platform, to be qualified vision holder designers that are preferred on sectoral and / or artistic basis in fashion accessories design area, to make applied and / or verbal and visual presentations on their specialities, to have ethic values, to have qualifications that make them able to keep up with art-design-technological developments in consideration of methodological and scientific methods.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Within the scope of this course
1- Lecture and Research:
The lecturer of this course determines the subjects of the project that is going to be carried out with the students. Students choose one of the subjects of the projects according to their speciality. By making an extension on the subjects (the lecturer explains the expected performance within the scope of the project), the lecturer of this course explains the process of the project and makes solution suggestions on the problems that can be encountered during the transition from sketch to design, guides students about generating solutions. She / he wants students to do visual and literary research on the subject they choose.
2- Sketch and design process:
The suitability for the chosen project, originality and the criteria about the convertibility into a design of the students sketches are discussed by all of the students and an atmosphere is created for students to make active comments, brainstorming on their sketches as well as the lecturer. The selected sketches are converted into design within the design standards and student s creative power.
3- Presentation and production process, (thirt one cannot be written)

Course evaluation process;
Evaluation will be carried out by considering
1- Student s research in accordance with the chosen project, his / her project level and project support, the performance she / he displayed in the process from sketch to the design (generating an idea, producing creative and original design, intellectual and oral attendance to the design analysis and evaluation processes within the course), suitability of designs to the project, success she / he showed in material selection of design and in determination of production techniques, the reproducibility and usability (ergonomics) of designs in accordance with the project, suitability of the technical and presentation to the design presentation criteria,
2- Students performance in jury evaluation (students advocacy of their design, technical and presentation, products)

Assessment Criteria

Once the designs are selected and the problems about the designs are solved, the students are free in presentation process. All the decisions in performance to be displayed are up to the student. The student informs the lecturer on the method she / he will employ in production process, how to prepare technical and presentation, how to make arrangements in jury evaluation and she / he will also takes advice in required situations. The final decision / initiative is of the student.

Course Policies and Rules

1.There is an 80 % obligation in attendance to lesson.
2. All plagiarism attempts and actions would end up in disciplinary punishment
3. If one doesn t hand over the required sketch- design studies on time, the evaluation would be carried out by taking this into consideration. But the student is supposed to hand over required things.
4. Nonattendance to the lesson, not performing the required responsibilities will not be accepted.
