Course Objective

It aims to perform creative, unique, innovative wearable design and art practices by using leather and sub-materials in fashion accessories product groups.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To be able to perform unique designs and art practices in fashion accessories product groups
2   To have material and production knowledge about his/her area
3   To be able to perform innovative approaches related to art and design that he/she has
4   To be able to solve the problems in the design of product groups related to his/her area, to have an critical perspective

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

1- Course is managed in 2 projects (design + practice) during one semester.
2. Projects are prepared to improve the knowledge and skills of the students in the subjects of wearable art and design.
3. Project is supported by using leather and sub-materials.
4. Principles of process, calendar, concept, application are involved in the initiative of the Project.
5. Process of the Project occurs as research, design, application.
6. The student submits all required materials within the scope of Project to the Jury at the end of every Project. He/she explains Project verbally.

Further Notes About Assessment Methods

Evaluation will be performed by considering below;
1. The student should design innovative, unique, creative fashion accessories products complying with the aim of the Project within the time provided for Project,
2. The student should do required researches directed to the subject of the Project,
3. The student should prepare sketches in accordance with the concept directed to project subject for the data obtained as a result of research,
4. The student should make design and practices of the chosen sketches and he/she also should perform their presentation in a creative way,
5. Bringing research and sketch files, design sheets and product application during jury evaluation and their defense by the student.

Assessment Criteria

1. Designing innovative, original, creative fashion accessory products in accordance with the purpose of the project within the time given for the project,
2. Conduct the requested research on the project topic,
3. To make sketches in line with the concept of the project subject in line with the data obtained as a result of the researches,
4. To make designs and applications of the selected sketches and to present them creatively,
5. Bringing research and sketch files, design sheets, product application to the jury evaluation and defense by the student,
evaluation will be made by taking into account.

Course Policies and Rules

1. Attendance to 80% of classes is compulsory.
2. All kinds of plagiarizing attempt results in actual disciplinary punishment.
3. The student is obliged to prepare the Project in accordance with design principles and complying with the aim, period and Schedule of the Project. The student, who completes the Project successfully by attending the classes, gets a passing grade.
