The introduction of the sketching techniques and materials in Industrial Design. Developing basic drawing skills. Bring in 2 and 3 dimensional thinking skills.

Course Contents

1 1st week Introduction of the course and media; showing of examples
2 2nd week Basic geometric elements, line value and thickness
3 3rd week The use of basic geometric elements in various compositions, analysing the object geometry
4 4th week Drawing from an existing object by inspecting and scaling; perspective drawing
5 5th week Introduction to perspective, one point perspective
6 6th week 2 and 3 point perspective, scale in perspective, exercise with various media.
7 7th week Perspective of cylinder and circle, exercise
8 8th week The relation of orthographic views and perspective, shadow in perspective
9 9th week Complex form definition, texture, groove lines, surface geometry, object profiles
10 10th week Page arrangement, geometric order, emphasis, background, frames
11 11th week Human-object relation
12 12th week Shading with marker; shading of orthographics
13 13th week Perspective colouring and shading with marker
14 14th week Exercising various textures with marker and pastels; illustration

Participation is obligatory in 80% of the course.
All kinds of initiative and actual plagiarism results disciplinary punishment.
Not attending the course will not be considered as a valid excuse for late deliveries of homework and projects.
For elayed project submissions there will be a decrease in points equivalent to note a letter for each day of delay.
