Course Objective

This course aims to give information about the relation between art and design from the view of cultural integrity notions as history, sociology, politics, science, economy and also aims creating and reading the culturual codes of design and art.

1   To have ability about defining and describing the culture
2   To have knowledge about the relation between art and design
3   To have knowledge about the effects of culture to art and design
4   To have ability about defining and describing the relation between art and design in consideration of cultural codes.
5   To have knowledge about the terminology about design and design history.
6   To have knowledge about differences between tangible and abstract notionsfor creating inventive and procreative design.

Planned Learning Activities and Teaching Methods

Lecturer informs students about art-design-culture relation via lecture notes, articles and various course material. Also wants them to make reasearches about the art and design movements related to topics.These researches are shared with class. Lecturer creates discussions about the topics related to terminology and concepts for achived information.
