Course Objective

The aim of this course is to inform students about the fundamental elements of maritime transportation such as cargoes, ships, ports, maritime enterprises, and the history of maritime transportation, as well as to enlighten them about the significance of globalization and containerization in transportation. Additionally, the course aims to discuss current topics in maritime logistics.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   To comprehend the fundamental elements of maritime transportation and maritime logistics.
2   To elucidate the concepts of shipping logistics, port logistics, and freight forwarder.
3   To compare and contrast the roles and functions of maritime transportation and maritime logistics.
4   To analyze the interconnectedness among cargoes, liner operators, ports, and freight forwarders.
