Course Objective

Designed as a module, or series of modules rather than a classical course, the main purpose of Occasional Business Seminars is to introduce the learners some real-life experiences from business world, trying to allow them to make use of these experiences for their future carrier. Thus, it is also aimed to contribute to their preparations for entering into working life, as well as to put them into direct contact with people from business circles.

Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit

1   Have developed a clear vision concerning their future carrier, making use of the practical information they obtained throughout the seminars.
2   Be able to write convincing intention letters and prepare CVs to be addressed to various institutions and firms, taking into consideration both their own carrier plans, as well as relevant firms and institutions expectations and conditions.

Assessment Criteria

1. The learner will demonstrate clearly the way he/she is preparing for his/her future carrier, referring to particular examples, real-life experiences covered throughout the seminars.
2. The learner will write at least two intention letters to be addressed to two different institutions or firms, taking into consideration both their own carrier plans, as well as relevant firms and institutions expectations and conditions.

IN THIS COURSE, GROUPS WILL HOST ONE OF THE GUEST SPEAKER AND THEY WILL SUMMARIZE THE GUEST SPEAKER S SPEECH IN WRITTEN REPORT AND THEY WILL PREPARE A VISUAL MATERIAL TO PUBLISH ON BLOG PAGE OF DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE AN BUSINESS.

Course Policies and Rules

1. Attendance to the seminars is compulsory and part of the assessment. The seminar series will include two groups of seminars. After the introductory lecture, every two weeks a speaker involved in international business will be invited o talk about his/her experiences and suggestions. The seminar will be followed by a questions and answer part, as well as discussion. In the remaining weeks, scholars from other departments will be invited to talk, complement the theoretical dimension of the experiences given in the first group of seminars.
